Important Update: Snail Mail Oversell & Potential Pen Pals Waitlist

Morning all,

I’ve come across an issue this weekend regarding Snail Mail subscriptions. Somehow—though I’m still investigating this with both Shopify and the company I use to manage subscriptions—one of the two has allowed the sale of over double the stock we actually have. Since we only hold a couple of Snail Mails at a time, this is obviously a big problem!

Unfortunately, as the sub items have already been with me for some time, and Helen has set a hard limit on what she’s offering, we’re unable to source more. Because of this, I will have to cancel 12 orders. To be as fair as possible, I’ll be doing this in the following order: one-off boxes first, then subscriptions, with the oldest orders prioritised last. I’m really sorry about this, but given the situation, this feels like the fairest approach.

On another note, the Pen Pals sub has had an incredible amount of interest, and I’m considering setting up a waitlist for future slots. Would anyone be interested in this? The idea would be that those on the waitlist get notified first when more spaces open up and have the chance to purchase before it goes live to everyone else. Let me know what you think!

I know this is the final year for subscriptions in their current format, and I’d love to get a sub to everyone who wants one. But as it’s just me handling everything, I have to limit numbers to make sure I can pack them in a reasonable timeframe.

Also, just a quick reminder—my shipping timeline has always matched Helen’s, running from 5th February to the end of the month. However, I do get a lot of emails just a few days in from people feeling anxious that their sub hasn’t been shipped yet. Please don’t worry! I promise I’m working through them as fast as I can. 💖
